Morgan Schmidt vs. Rob Imhoff

Two candidates. Two very different futures for Deschutes County.

Morgan Schmidt

Executive Director - Red Cross of Central and Eastern Oregon

Raised by a hardworking single mother and the first in her family to graduate college, Morgan knows what it takes to build a life in a changing world. Morgan spent the last decade in public service, responding to community crises and natural disasters.

Morgan will fight for us because she’s one of us.

Her top priorities:

  • Affordability: Because families shouldn’t be priced out of Deschutes County

  • Peace of Mind: Access to mental health care, safe neighborhoods, and protecting our community from Trump’s harmful policies.

  • Accountability: Protecting our land, water, and tax dollars from being wasted or misused.

From working families to retirees, Morgan has your back with strong leadership and kindness in action.

Rob Imhoff

Small Business Owner

Endorsed by MAGA commissioner Tony Debone and recently seen socializing with January 6er David Medina, Rob Imhoff is best known for pitching the financially reckless idea of Deschutes County buying Mt. Bachelor.

Instead of focusing on affordable housing, address our county’s mental health problems, or figuring out to prevent suburban sprawl from eating up our natural resources, Rob thinks the county should buy a mountain that is not for sale (though it was on the market last year for $110 Million).

This, despite the fact that the County’s budget is already stretched thin.

Another of Rob’s “big” ideas is to ban the public from camping in a 6 mile radius around each city’s Urban Growth Boundary in an effort to end what he calls “homeless tourism.” However, much of that land is not controlled by the county. Most of it is National Forest, BLM land, or private property and banning the public from camping on that land would be egregious government overreach.

Like Trump, Rob’s ideas that are impractical at best and illegal at worst.

And none of them actually address the problems Deschutes County is facing.
